Kanye Uses Whitney’s Bathroom as Album Cover Art? Aw Hell to the No!

Kanye West is at it again. And when I say at it, I mean pissing people off.

This time Kanye has picked out a picture of the late Whitney Houston’s drug filled bathroom, which was featured on the cover of the National Enquirer in 2006, to use as cover art for a new album ‘Daytona’ by Pusha T, that Kanye produced.

Pusha T explained on the Angie Martinez Show, that Kanye was the driving force behind the decision to use the photo. After all, they had already decided to use something else ahead of the album’s Friday release.

From Yahoo Music

“He changed my artwork last night at 1 a.m. He wasn’t feeling it,” Pusha T told Martinez. “[Originally], the artwork — it was pictures that we all agreed on. He picked the photographer, I took these pictures, I was like, ‘Yo, these are fresh.’ I picked all of these pictures out, he had a little edit to it, how he wanted the actual grading of the picture to look. Picked the picture, great, we look, boom, boom, boom, it’s good.”

West then insisted on spending $85,000 of his own money for the snapshot. West was adamant: “This is what people need to see to go along with this music.” Pusha T said.

I’m guessing that Pusha T’s lyrics are about drugs then. Just speculating…

It’s still so disrespectful to Whitney, whatever the reasoning. I suppose it’s to show what drugs can to do to a person. But never has it ever in the history of showing troubled artists destruction for public consumption, has it helped to deter people. If anything, it glamorizes it.

Whether Sid & Nancy, Kurt and Courtney, Whitney and Bobby, Pam and Jim. Young people especially, are influenced by this crap, it’s just the sad truth.

Also, I doubt Whitney would like her personal area to be shown like that or used for an album cover. I didn’t even want to use the picture here, to be honest.

We need to leave Whitney be.

Let the woman Rest In Peace.
