Selena Gomez‘s “Back to You” music video is nothing short of a visual feast. And while the clothes and retro vibes are aesthetically next-level, the real scene-stealer was Selena’s hair, which was chopped into a sleek bob with a curtain of smooth bangs. And nope — the look isn’t courtesy of a wig. Sel’s new cut is actually the real deal.
“This look was inspired by 1960s love scenes,” Selena’s hairstylist, Danielle Priano told Popsugar of the inspiration behind the cut. “Selena is super hands-on with all of her creative endeavors. She always has an idea of what she wants. She wanted the look to feel dated [but] with a modern twist.”
Some people claimed that she stole her aesthetic for the new video from Palestinian Artist Sarah Bahbah, but I think she may have stolen from me when I was a young kiddo.
Seriously, check out the similarity!
I’m just saying y’all. I think I, moi, was the real inspiration for Selena Gomez’s new look. Don’t be jelly haters. I had to rock this retro bob for years because my mother had it cut no other way. Thank you Selena for making this style cool again.
