Hellooooooo people!!!
Long time no blog, but I do have something fun for you today. I’m showing you the sweet gourmand scents I am reaching for this winter season.
Winter IS the time to pull out the sweetest Gourmands in your collection. It’s essentially the only time in the year you can wear them, well I can anyway so I’m making the most of it. One time I made the mistake of spraying Yves Saint Laurent’s Cinema in the warm weather, and what was once a beloved beauty of a scent, turned into something that was made in hell. I almost yacked.
Anyyyyyway….
My first pick is 212 Sexy by Carolina Herrera
This little blush bullet shaped bottle holds the prettiest sweet powdery scent. I think most people would not find this hard to wear. There’s cotton candy as a note for goodness sake! How can you go wrong? It’s for the sexy gal with a sweet side. It’s what Barbie wears to work at one of her 700000 jobs.
Next up: Burberry Brit
The classic Burberry designed bottle has some of the best perfume I have had in a while. I was super impressed by this one. There’s a lime note that shouts in the first spray, but it settles after a while into a beautiful vanilla almond scent that is so warm and comforting. This is the one scent I know will get me compliments. Also lasting power – all day and night. Yum!
Next: Aquolina Pink Sugar
This is my county fair fragrance. When the fair rolls into town and it’s freezing, this is the perfume to wear with jeans, a sweater, jacket and sneakers. This is the perfume you wear while eating a funnel cake, preparing to ride the Super Himalaya. Ya feel me? It’s not for every occasion, but I just gave you the perfect one, so if you want a cheapy sweet scent that will have people around you asking, who’s baking cookies? This is for you.
Fun Fact: Many celebrities have Pink Sugar as a signature. Adriana Lima, Fergie, Reese Witherspoon and Vanessa Hudgens to name a few. Lots of famous people out there smelling like a baby prostitute.
Next one I chose: L De Lolita by Lolita Lempicka
This is a discontinued fragrance that I probably shouldn’t add because it’s hard to find, but if you want it bad enough, you can find them. Ebay is the place to go to stock up on this beauty. Cinnamon, Tonka Bean and Bitter Orange are the stars of this play. They stand out and basically you smell edible. One of my all time favorites for life! Look at that bottle. Mermaids unite!
Prada Candy
Prada Candy is one of THE Gourmands that sells the most around this time of year. For good reason too. It’s divine! It’s a sweet innocent, flirty caramel vanilla fragrance for anyone who wants to smell sweet and soft. I wear this to bed because it’s so comforting. It smells like babies. In a good way. I know that sounds weird, but while Pink Sugar smells like a baby prostitute. Prada Candy smells like just baby. Baby powder and cotton candy drizzled with caramel. A classic gourmand that will stand the test of time, in my opinion. Delish.
Yves Saint Laurent’s Black Opium
Okay, I never jumped on the Black Opium bandwagon because LITERALLY EVERYONE was dousing themselves in it when it first came out. I thought it was a copy of Flowerbomb and that it was hype, hype, hype.
Well, I was wrong. I can admit it. This was given to me last Christmas and I am obsessed with it this cold season. I reach for it almost every day. I get it. I finally get it! What an amazing, gorgeous sweet perfume. I mean, it’s Saint Laurent, I should have known it was bomb.
Coffee and pear notes are the major players in Black Opium. Also you get bitter almond, cedar and cashmere woods to round out this gem. The bottle is sparkly rockstar, I love it.
Christian Dior’s Hypnotic Poison
Apricot, plum and coconut are the top Notes in this heavenly scent, but if you think it’s a fruity scent for summer, forget it. This is a creamy vanilla root beer float with almonds sprinkled on top. That’s the fragrance. It. Is. Epic.
Chrissy Teigen brings up Hypnotic Poison in almost every interview, why? Because it’s just that good. Chrissy is trying to help you people. Do yourself a favor and try a sample, hunt one down or go to your local mall and let them spray this on you. You will understand why this is a favorite of Chrissy, Adele, Madonna, Monica Bellucci and myself, of coarse.😊
So these are the sweeties I am reaching for currently because it is finally cold where I live and I want to smell like a bag of sugar exploded on me while I was baking homemade caramels.
